This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic, creative and eager to learn! They learn best through hands-on engaging activities that challenge them. They come to school ready to learn about the world and create meaning to their surroundings. They love building and exploring nature. They work cooperatively in groups, help each other find solutions to projects and develop meaningful conversations on a daily basis.

My students are growing personally and academically every day.

They make connections as they are learning and one can see their growth on a daily basis. Even though our school is located in a low-income area where the majority of our student body receives free lunch our students strive for excellence. My students are an incredible group of learners, it's exciting to work with them.

My Project

My students enjoy building, whether they are building letters, number, robots, or creating new shelters for their animal critters and these STEM manipulatives will do just that allow them to build a foundation for future academic success. STEM is our future; our young kids are coming to school curious about how the world works. In my classroom, we want to build a connection between school and the world. Through interactive centers, students will make connections as to how a community works, how vehicles transport goods, how an animal creates a shelter.

I want my students to use their curiosity to help them understand how science, technology, engineering and math are all part of their everyday life.
