My Students

I work at a low-income school with students from incredibly diverse backgrounds. Many of them work after school jobs to help support their family. A lot of them are working hard to learn English, having recently moved from countries that speak Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and many more.

Despite the challenges that they face, I am impressed every day by their work ethic and the sense of community they bring.

They are always willing to help each other out and striving to make sure that everyone can succeed. I try my best every day to make my content accessible to all of my students.

My Project

Teaching science at an older school means having old lab supplies and low budgets to replace them. Unfortunately, some of my old hot plates have quit working and need to be replaced.

Safely doing labs during the Coronavirus pandemic also means having more, smaller groups.

Having the necessary number of hot plates is critical in making that happen. Please help me continue to provide my students with safe lab experiences during this difficult time. Lab days truly are a highlight in my student's days and these hot plates will help make more of those happen!
