My Project

I am writing to introduce an exciting new home economics course for high school students at our Title I school in Denver, Colorado. Our program is designed to empower students with essential life skills while promoting health, embracing diversity, and fostering creativity.

Central to our curriculum is nutrition education.

By teaching students about nutrition and cooking, especially with a focus on diverse cultural cuisines, we aim to instill healthier habits that will benefit them for a lifetime. However, to make this aspect of our course a reality, we are in need of cooking supplies.

Additionally, our home economics course incorporates hands-on gardening. Through cultivating fruits, vegetables, and herbs, students learn about the benefits of fresh ingredients and gain insights into sustainable living practices. Your contribution will help us acquire the necessary supplies to establish and maintain a thriving school garden.

Furthermore, our curriculum includes sewing and knitting workshops, offering students the opportunity to explore healthy and rewarding hobbies. By providing sewing machines and materials, we aim to spark creativity and encourage self-expression through textile arts.

Many of our students face economic challenges and lack access to resources that could broaden their horizons. Your support will play a crucial role in breaking down these barriers and opening doors to brighter futures for our students.
