My Project

I will be teaching Anatomy and Physiology this year and I am hoping to incorporate a lot of hands on, real world activities to engage students in learning about how the human body works!

I have been teaching at my school for 12 years but this is a new subject for me and I would love some support as I build up the materials from scratch.

I want to create weekly opportunities for students to engage in authentic learning opportunities like model building, dissections, and investigations using their own human bodies in the experiments!

I plan to use the materials like pipe cleaners, wax sticks, balloons, markers and posters to have students develop models of body systems (and the broom to clean up the mess!) I love the days when students are engaging in collaborative hands on work and model building and dissections will be such fun days to teach!

Dissections are always a hit and a reason students take the course so we will use the dissection trays and the craft trays for those. I plan to use the soap, paper towels, holder, to clean up after dissections.
