My students need an iPad because all but one of our computers have been removed from our classrooms and there is no money in the budget to have them replaced.
I want my children to have access to technology even though our budget in the district doesn't allow for it at this time. There are so many amazing apps out there that can enhance their knowledge and love for learning. The students will be lining up to get their hands on the iPad!
My students are 5th graders that will be learning about American History and our 50 states.
They love hands-on learning and anything technological. They live in California and attend a public school. The school has had many budget cuts that stop us from going on the field trips that we used to attend. Using technology, I can bring many of the field trips to the classroom through the Internet.
My Project
The use of an iPad allows the children to work independently at their desks while honing their skills in all academic areas. There are so many amazing apps out there that will benefit and further their learning. I, as their teacher, will be able to hook up the iPad to a projector and stream videos and games for the children to watch and play. I look forward to researching all the ways that other teachers have incorporated the iPad into their classroom. The possibilities are endless.
The world is all about technology and having the skills to use it.
I believe strongly in teaching the children as much about technology as possible and integrate it into our studies. They will need these skills in every aspect of their future careers. We currently have one computer in our classroom. In order to teach computers I have to take the kids to our school library where only 20 kids out of 34 can work on computers at a time. This is ineffective and time consuming. They deserve better.
