This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how curious and eager my students are to explore the world around them. Their energy and excitement for learning are contagious, and it motivates me to find new and engaging ways to teach them. Gardening and hydroponic resources will be incredible tools in this regard.

These hands-on experiences will allow my students to see science in action, giving them a tangible connection to concepts like plant biology, ecosystems, and sustainability.

They will be able to observe the life cycle of plants, understand the importance of water and nutrients, and see the impact of environmental factors on growth. Hydroponics, in particular, will introduce them to innovative farming methods, sparking discussions about food production and environmental stewardship.

These activities will not only reinforce the scientific concepts we're covering in class but will also teach them valuable life skills like patience, responsibility, and the importance of nurturing something over time. Plus, they’ll get a sense of accomplishment as they see the fruits (or vegetables!) of their labor. I can't wait to see their faces light up when they harvest their first crops!
