New Furniture For Classroom Library

My Students

I am a Kindergarten teacher with 23 bright young students in my class. My students are bright, first-grade bound, supportive of one another, loving, caring, empathic, funny and extremely creative. My students love to read! A typical day in our classroom is extremely fun and all the students read stories with their classmates. These Kindergarteners are very independent learners and they love to buddy read and discuss stories.

Our school is a great place for students to learn.

There is a friendly environment and supportive community. Our Kindergarten classroom is very spacious. Students have room to move about but not a specific area to sit comfortably and read. What a difference it will make to have a warm and inviting reading area that encourages relaxed and engaged reading.

My Project

By having classroom library furniture, my students will be able to feel more comfortable in their environment. They cherish books and have a love for reading. If our classroom had a designated cozy library, this would support their reading and get them more engaged.

This project is something I've been stirring in my head for a long time.

My end goal is to have the classroom furniture in place and collect stuffed animal characters based on popular childrens' books. (Mo Willems, Dr. Suess...etc) I believe that this will make our classroom library a special and memorable place to be. Any support or donation would be wonderful! Thank you so very much!
