My Students

My students are amazing and I want to help them become more amazing!

I teach third grade at a school with large boundaries.

Because of those large boundaries we have a mix of income levels in our classrooms and a wide variety of ability levels.

To help reach the different ability levels of my students, I love to work with them in small groups so I can better meet their different needs! However, I need manipulatives and resources to keep my other students engaged while I do this, not just doing busy work.

My Project

My students love to read, but sometimes it is hard for 3rd graders to transition from picture books to chapter books. They often struggle with engaging enough to read an entire chapter book. However, there are lots of new chapter books or graphic novels for younger grades to help that transition and to help them find the joy of reading.

My students need new chapter books to help them discover the love of reading!

I would like to provide my students with a variety of books to choose from during our reading time that are exciting and have vivid pictures to capture their attention. This will provide them the opportunity to easily transition to reading chapter books and to establish the love of reading!
