Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 8th Grade Falcon Films students are hardworking, dedicated, good-hearted students who love using technology to create fun and informative videos for their campus. Their commitment to this class extends far beyond their class period. They record school events, show up early before school to set up and record morning announcements that broadcast to the entire school, and at times travel to locations where our school is participating in events to film and share with the school. This amazing group of kids is a pleasure to teach because they show every day that they enjoy what they do.
My Project
The students of my Falcon Films class are incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by and to utilize fun technology on a daily basis. They use this to create morning announcements that are broadcast school-wide daily during second period, broadcasts that are shown at every spirit rally, PSAs (public school announcements) that talk about important school issues, and other fun projects that they create for their own enjoyment.
With these new materials, I am now trying to give my students a more realistic filmmaking experience.
The rolling tripods will all students to pan with their subjects without a shaky video. The boom mics will allow students to capture better audio for each of their scenes. The mounting hardware will allow us to mount screens in the studio for our anchors to view when they are on screen and the ceiling mounts will allow for better lighting in the studio.
