Hi friends!
I’m a high school English teacher in an underfunded urban district where teachers purchase their own classroom supplies.
This year, the state is asking our district to implement a new curriculum since we are underperforming on state testing. Because of this, teachers are required to use new resources for students such as individual hanging folders and notebooks for every student, and many students are unable to purchase their own school supplies. In addition, we are not supplied with basic cleaning supplies and therefore need to purchase our own.
