New, Culturally Relevant, Diverse Books for 6th-12th Grade Public School
Help me give my students new, culturally relevant, diverse books for our public school library serving grades 6-12. The average age of our library collection is 1996. The percentage of our collection that is considered diverse is 43%.
Our wonderful 6th-12th grade students are in need of new, culturally relevant, diverse books for our school library. The average age of our library collection is 1996. The percentage of our collection that is considered diverse is 43%.
The books included in this project have been requested by our top ten library patrons.
These books reflect the needs and interests of our diverse student body, providing them with representation they deserve and academic enrichment to support their mental health and a school-life balance.
My goals for this project is for students to read more books that meet their needs and interests, and to grow library engagement and literacy rates, life skills, and community.
An addition of new, culturally relevant, diverse books will make a big difference toward supporting student success at our school on a whole.
