My Students

Help my 450 students show off their computer skills, by allowing them to print their work in color.

I am a K-8 computer literacy teacher in a low-income district.

Many students don't have access to computers at home. My students are very creative and love to use color in their computer projects. It would be very disappointing for them to have to print these in black and white, when they look so nice on the screen.

My Project

Last year, I was fortunate enough to obtain a color ink jet printer through DonorsChoose. This printer worked well and allowed my students to print their work in color. However, it cost me about $500 in ink! I can no longer afford to buy the ink. I have since learned that if I have a laser jet printer, my district will supply the ink for it. This printer will also be faster and provide higher quality results. The printer that I received last year, will go to a deserving classroom teacher who can use it to print out materials for his/her class.

Please help enhance my students' technology education by funding this project for a color printer.

It will be used on a daily basis by many students. It will allow the younger students to print their creative projects and allow the older students to enhance their papers and projects both for computer class and their other academic classes.
