My 3rd grade ICT class is made up of 32 unique students who are eager to learn. My students walk into the classroom bringing diverse styles of learning and abilities. I want to enhance their learning experiences in the classroom by providing them with the technological tools and knowledge to be successful in this high-tech society we live in. Our class walls do not limit our learning!
My students have diverse learning abilities and it is my goal to provide them with the best support to spark their interests and strengths in all they can do.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting will bring the coding world to my classroom. Coding can be intimidating but attaching the name Lego to it will provide a sense of familiarity and eagerness to learn. Students will first be introduced to coding by using the Creative Lego Brick Set to complete activities and task. Once students have gained comfort in the basics of coding they will move on to experimenting in robotics with the WeDo 2.0 Core Set.
The goal is to get students excited for STEM so they will continue on to seek out STEM careers.
My students have minimal exposure to experience and experiment in coding and robotics. Students will greatly benefit and excel from this type of exposure due to the hands-on, logical nature of coding. By funding my project you will help spark their interest in STEM and provide them with a chance to compete in the global markets of their future.
