Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love learning and processing new content. One way my students like to work with new content is through games.
The use of board games in the classroom help students problem solve and collaborate to find an answer to math, reading and science problems.
Students enjoy challenging me through game play about content we are reviewing in class. Guess Who for example is a game that I incorporate into math instruction. Students work together to answer math problems and coach each other on the correct steps to solve. They then present the information to the class and if they are correct the students are allowed to ask me a question to advance in the game Guess Who. I have noticed that my increase use of games has increased student understanding, processing, collaboration and problem solving skills.
