This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Next school year we will be starting the year off in a brand new school! Our new school is located within the city of Lebanon. Many of the students we teach come from low socialeconomic houses. They come to school excited to learn and meet new friends in a safe learning environment. Kindergarten is the first time many of my students are in school. They are eager to learn, play and meet new friends.

In kindergarten, we spend most of the day on the floor learning through the use of manipulatives and hands-on activities.

My goal is to foster a relentless love of reading, writing and mathematics.

My Project

As my students learn and play in kindergarten, the majority of my student's day is spent sitting on the floor in various whole group and small group settings for reading, math and writing. My students start the year off as energetic and eager to learn 5 year olds and progress into amazing, bright 6 year olds getting ready for 1st grade.

As we begin a new school year in a new school, I would love to have a new classroom rug for my students to sit on as they learn and play!

My students are out growing my current classroom rug, my rug is beginning to fall apart and with 28 students in my class, I no longer have enough space on my rug to accommodate all my students.
