My students need a multi-purpose easel for the classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. McGhie's classroom raised $324
This project is fully funded
I have recently been hired to teach a 1st & 2nd grade class at the 2nd largest elementary school in the city. I have been teaching 4th grade at this school for several years and I am looking forward to this new opportunity. The additional classroom is due to our ever increasing enrollment since the beginning of the school year. Our population is quite diversified with a growing population of ELL and special needs students.
The addition of this classroom was approved only in September by our School Committee. Unfortunately, the school budget which was set in July does not have any extra funds to help purchase supplies for a new classroom. Although I have my 4th grade supplies, those must stay for the teacher who will be taking on that position. Also, the needs for 1st and 2nd graders are different than those of 4th graders. I have desks, chairs and some smaller type supplies such as crayons, paper, books, etc. The classroom is however lacking some of the larger scale learning tools that are essential in teaching 1st and 2nd grade.
I would love a multi purpose teaching easel that has versatility to display books for our read aloud time. The dry erase board would be used to post daily messages, lessons, reminders and even children's birthdays. The mobility feature of this easel offers the flexibility of positioning it where all students can observe and offers the option to move it for smaller groups. An easel is a necessary tool for a primary classroom where so many of our students are visual learners.
I am trying to create a wonderful, nurturing learning environment for my new classroom. It has been very challenging with limited funds. Your support to purchase the easel would make such a difference to my classroom. It would give us a station where we can gather altogether and learn.
