This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am moving classrooms for the new school year and there are several things that are needed to make the new room a functional and comfortable space. This new room does not have any built in cubby spaces or places for students to keep their belongings. I teach a preschool special education program and all of my students have specific goals they are working on.

Most of my students are working on independence in adaptive skills, such as managing their own belongings, so having a cubby station is very important!

It will enable us to work on these skills as they prepare for kindergarten (and beyond). This cubby unit is appropriately sized, sturdy and able to be moved when needed so I will be able to use it for years to come, regardless of the room I am in.
