Help me give my students a classroom library that has a range of levels and a range of genres. My students love to read and an expanded library will be great for them.
I have a great blend of students this year. They are troopers and have taken all the changes in this school year like champs. They are a diverse group of kids who love to come to school and to learn.
I teach is in high needs school, with many of my students who are below level in reading and in math.
They come from a socially economically disadvantaged area. All students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My school is a Spanish/English Emersion school with 47% of the students whose first language is Spanish. We have a great Welcome program for students who have been in the country for less than one year.
My Project
I always encourage my students to read everything from books to newspapers. Many of my students are reading below grade level and I do not currently have a library that supports their needs. I love to have a variety of reading materials and expanding the current classroom library will help them become better readers.
My students who are learning from home will benefit from the digital resources provided by Scholastic News.
The face to face students will benefit from a grader range of reading materials in their own classroom. My ESL students will benefit from the exposure of reading materials at their English reading level.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
