We spend a lot of time on the carpet in our classroom, from morning meeting to whole group instruction to puzzle and game time. Our classroom carpet had seen better days and was in need of replacing.
This type of rug with the alphabet on the edge and squares in the middle helps my 1st grade students find their own spot to sit during circle time or during class time.
They also practice learning how to make space for their classmates to sit, and of course, it provides a comfortable spot to learn at any point. My class loves rainbow colors and we picked this rug out specifically because of the bright colors in the middle and around the edges.
