I have taken a step into my childhood and took a teaching job where I grew up and learned so many skills while being surrounded by so many different cultures. I recently walked into my new classroom and noticed there is a lot missing to help my little ones build a community with their peers. In first grade, we do a lot of our learning and conversation skills on a learning carpet. The carpet is a place to gather with your classroom family and learn structure and many other skills! My school district has a lot of low income families and families of different cultures. So building that love, and community in my classroom is very important to me. I am excited to share with my students how this school impacted my life and how we can all relate together!
All of my students will benefit from this colorful, cheerful carpet! It is important to make this classroom feel like home to all of my students. :) This carpet and easel will help with our morning meeting. Having this colorful carpet as a gathering place will help students open up and participate! All of my reading and writing workshop lessons will take place on this carpet. The easel will help me display writing as a guideline for each student to follow and having it on wheels will make it flexible for all of my students! Thank you in advance for all your support.
