My Project

I teach a severe special education classroom who have all been working with me as we keep getting moved around campus.

They deserve a classroom that has a white board and organized supplies where they can easily find their items and grow in independence as they navigate their way through high school.

Our current classroom only has a TV and desks. We managed using a small easel whiteboard to help get by at first. My students are very visual learners and we are constantly using the white board for morning meetings, writing support, math support, etc. A larger rolling whiteboard will allow me to work on a larger aspect of lessons without having to erase so frequently and the extra space will allow students to come to the front and better give their examples.

Printer ink is no longer considered a necessity. My students require visuals and icons that are in color to support transitions, communication, understanding, and so much more.

With my students being in highschool, we focus on preparing them for real life organization, sensory exploration and more. I am hoping to use the bins to replace old broken bins and create new updated bins that better fit my students needs.

From resources for students (white board, bins, etc) and supplies to support staff (velcro, folders, desk whiteboards), There is so much we need but these basics would be a great start.
