Help me give my students Displacement by Kiku Hughes to help enrich their learning environments with diverse class novels.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. McCurdy's classroom raised $616

My Project
Displacement by Kiku Hughes shares the story of a young girl who gets transported back in time to a Japanese internment camp where her grandmother was held in Utah. She learns what it means to be a Japanese American and about her culture. I want our class texts to push students as readers and as people.
These books will show students a different perspective and reach low-level readers.
Because this text is a graphic novel, it will engage our low-level readers. Our school has a diverse population, and our class novels should reflect and represent them. My students deserve to read a book that will help them understand the gravity of Utah's history with internment camps.
