This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

SMS is unique in Bakersfield, as it has a 30 year legacy of providing our school announcements live to each class in a completely student run news program known as the Morning Show.

Over the years the technology the class needs has obviously advanced, however, what the class actually is able to have has not kept up.

Our current cameras are from around 2008. They are not allowing students to produce more modern looking videos, and thus the skills that could translate into real world careers is limited as well. It also has hampered our classes ability to create the types of videos that middle schoolers are used to seeing, and they have been called, "dated." Well, the kids use different words, but the sentiment is the same.

This news AI powered streaming camera will allow the class to create more entertaining and informative videos.
