This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have a desire to learn. They come to school eager for knowledge and look to me, as their teacher, to provide it.
Most of my students come from low income or single-parent families.
Many of my students do not have the basic tools and supplies they need for a typical school day. My students are very energetic and want to learn.
Our school is in a constant battle to get our students the basic necessities they need to become successful scholars.
My Project
How do you feel when you crack open a brand new book? That is how I want my students to feel!
Most of the books in our library are old, torn and have just about run their course.
I would love for my students to have some brand new books for their classroom library.
Students love to read. My students love to sit on the carpet and curl up with a good book, and what better way to read a book that no one has ever cracked open and read before! My hope is that my students love of reading continues and that their imagination will take them wherever they want to go!
