My Students
Sadly, libraries in our rural area are few and far between. My school district is made up of seven small farm communities. Only two of those have modest libraries with limited hours. Although our elementary school has a library, it is also suffers from the same conditions.
In order for students to develop a lifelong love of reading, they have to have access to books!
My kids deserve a vibrant classroom library that allows them to interact with and be exposed to a wide variety of literature.
My Project
Bookshelves lined with new exciting, engaging titles to choose from is the BEST way to welcome my 5th grade students! I can clearly imagine watching their eyes light up as they pour over the selection of books in the classroom. I can't wait to begin our reading journeys together!
I want my students to spend the year thoroughly immersed in books.
Perusing tittles, chatting about characters, sharing favorite authors, and eagerly devouring stories will foster a lifelong love of reading!
Having a wide variety of genres and authors will guarantee that my 5th graders are welcomed into a text rich classroom environment that will lead to an adventurous year of reading for all of us!
