My Students

My goal as a special education teacher is to prepare our most vulnerable students to live a happy, successful life. I teach 4th and 5th grade 12:1:1 with students whom disabilities range from emotional disturbance to learning disabilities. They were conditioned to believe that they were different from their non-disabled peers. My goal is to change that and continue to show them how awesome they truly are.

My students come to school every day ready and willing to learn more about the world and themselves.

I love to see their curiosity and drive to learn. Being able to see them push aside their disabilities to learn more about the world is such an inspiration. Sadly, this has been a struggle due to a lack of classroom supplies and resources. I would hope to foster their dreams by having more readily available resources to improve their learning environment.

My Project

Due to my students living in a low-income area, we struggle with having viable technology. Most of the devices like classroom the laptops are older than my students. To continue to improve my students' learning and building a connection to the world, I would like to purchase reading books for my class library to help improve their reading fluency, and comprehension, and their love for reading.

These books will allow students access to more reading materials to improve their fluency, help enhance their learning experience in the classroom, and build their literacy skills.

By donating to my classroom, you are assisting in providing my students with a chance to receive a quality education.

My students deserve the best, and my goal is to give it to them. It first starts with me finding ways like donations to get us the supplies we need, so that they are learners with a bright and powerful future ahead.
