New Books for the Library

Help me give my students some amazing books for their school library. I chose a few classics such as Flat Stanley and Skippyjon Jones as well as some new releases like Randi Rhodes, Ninja Detective.

My Students

Our elementary school library is used by first through fifth-grade students every week. Each class comes to the library for a thirty-minute period during which I, their teacher-librarian provides a lesson tailored to their grade level based on state library standards and fabulous literature.

My students are amazing kids who always come to the library ready to learn.

They experience a mix of print media and technology during our library lessons. Our discussions are engaging and often entertaining! Just yesterday, a second-grade boy entered with his class and announced, "I love books!" I replied, "Me too!"

We are in need of more books! My students cannot wait to check out new and interesting books. There are so many great authors and stories in our world, and I want my students to see what is possible through books and the many imaginative works that are being published today.

My Project

A major aspect of my job as a teacher-librarian is to get students hooked on reading. This is so much easier to do when we have current, fun and interesting books on our library shelves.

New books grab students' attention and help get them excited about reading!

The books I have chosen for my project are all high-interest materials. Some are chapter books, others are picture books. I want all of my students to find success in reading AND enjoy it at the same time.

Please help me provide awesome books for my students. Help them become readers!
