it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a science lab that grades K-5 come into once a week for an hour of hands learning! Students love coming over to lab and the content connections they make during hands on learning is incredible!
Our school is writing based charter school in a diverse, urban community.
We strive for our students to be resilient, life-long learners who strive to further their knowledge. At our school we encourage students to take interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities also promote the inquiry approach for our students. We want the students to drive the instruction.
My Project
By funding this project, it will help my students with their content knowledge of science. They will be able to make more connections during their science lab time. These books will also give the students the ability to do research for science. We are working on the students coming up with their own investigable questions that they would like to research. Having grade level appropriate books will definitely help them accomplish this!
This project will improve my classroom by giving not only the students an additional resource but the fellow teachers as well.
The classroom teachers can use these books to guide and support their science instruction prior to their science lab time. These books will ensure the students are getting a well rounded science education!
