Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is small, housing about 200 students with only one classroom per grade level. Our students love to explore, think, and grow. They are striving to become academic learners, philosophical thinkers, effective communicators and active community contributors. They show a lot of pride for their school and this shows every day in their actions towards their teachers and peers. Because our school is so small, we receive minimal funding from the state, so we can always use your help to get us new supplies and resources.
Our students see themselves as life long learners.
By donating to our classroom project you are helping create life long memories and a lifetime of positive learning!
My Project
It all starts with the opportunity to read engaging texts. It is human nature to love a good story. Novel studies can get students excited!
My hope is that these novel studies will help my students make world connections, build vocabulary, strengthen their conversation skills, engage them in deeper level thinking, and strengthen their comprehension.
When the room is abuzz with discussion, you know that your students love what they're reading. I'm excited to listen to the debates about character relationships, discussion on point of view, and watch students discuss and support their inferences. When we are collecting books, we are collecting happiness!
