This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at my public school get excited about books! Many students love to come in and browse our library's shelves. Having a relevant, engaging, and diversified collection of books is important to them. Most of our students do not get to go to their public library because they either live too far away from one, or they have familial responsibilities after school. The only place they can find and check out new and exciting books is here in their school library.

My Project

Junior Library Guild is a subscription service that I have used for a few years. I am only able to fund two or three subscriptions a year, so any additional subscription would be fabulous! The books from JLG go through a rigorous process in order to be included in the subscription. They are curated by people who read hundreds of books every year, and the books are easily exchangeable, if by chance they need to be.

We all love getting new books!

With this subscription our library will receive 4 new books every month throughout the year. These books will be new releases, varied in subject as I request both fiction and non-fiction titles!
