New Beginnings

My Students

I have approximately twenty-five, five year old kindergarten students entering my classroom this school year. Some of them have never been to preschool prior to entering kindergarten. So this kindergarten experience is new to them, as well as their parents. This is a new beginning!

I am encouraged that even during this difficult time of the unknown, and unrest, my students will still be able to enjoy their kindergarten experience, through love, patience, guidance, and support from my paraprofessional and me.

Unfortunately, many of them do not have the basic supplies needed to have the best learning experience as possible. So, I am thankful to anyone that plays a part in helping our class have materials they so desperately need to enhance their learning.

My Project

All of the materials I am requesting are essential in helping my students be prepared for beginning kindergarten.

The My First Draw Write Journals, Red Baseline Newsprint, Rainbow Sentence Strips, and First Picture Story Composition Books will help students learn how to illustrate their thoughts as well as learn to label their illustrations, then eventually write complete sentences to tell about their illustrations, and help them learn to write neatly.

The Geoboards, Double-Sided Counters, Ten-Frames Class Set, and All-Purpose Balance will help my students have a more hands-on approach to their math and science lessons.
