My Students

The students in my class are only 25 of the almost 700 students that come to school each day eager to learn! Our school services Pre-K through 4th grade. We are located in a high poverty area, but this has never stopped our students or teachers from striving for the best. The students in my class have very diverse backgrounds. I make it my personal, daily goal to have each child enter my classroom feeling welcomed, loved, and appreciated! All of my students matter and bring so much joy to my life!

My Project

Flexible seating will give my students choice and ownership of where they sit.

Think about your days in school when you walked into your classroom and you were told you could only sit at your desk.

Remember how it made you feel? After a little while it got old and boring. Well, that is exactly how my students feel! They don't want to sit at the same table with the same kids every day. So, flexible seating just makes sense!

My students who need to move can choose fun and exciting options like the wobble chairs, balls, or rockers. My students who prefer quiet can pick the soft spots or simply sit on the carpet.

With flexible seating, one day they may wobble while they work, and the next day relax on soft spots. It can change, and they will feel like they are given a new beginning each and every day!
