My students need resources to enrich lessons and content. The book bins will improve organization and time spent focused on content, and the rectangular table will serve as an additional seating option.
The students I am educating this incoming school year need to be reminded that learning is a lifelong process. Both learning and education should be an enjoyment and not viewed with a negative mindset. These students are from a small rural area where resources are limited. As a matter of fact, internet access isn't available in many homes!
I look forward to getting to know my students and engaging them with various instructional strategies, resources and activities, and seating options.
In under a month, I will meet my 40+ fourth grade students. I am beyond excited! I look forward to growing both personally and professionally as I educate these young minds with full intentions of getting them excited about learning.
I am determined to create a classroom environment where all students feel safe, welcomed, challenged, and important.
My Project
At our school, we have a departmentalized fourth grade. I will only be teaching 40+ students math, science, and social studies. These subjects tend to be accompanied with a "boring" and "negative" mindset from students.
With that said, I am looking forward to bringing excitement into the classroom through hands-on activities, discovery learning, and more!
I am looking for some additional resources to utilize during specific lessons and units.
For organization purposes, I have added the book bins to the project. These book bins will allow me to organize our books within the classroom making books easier to find and saving time! I will be able to divide the books by subject, theme, reading level, and more! The rectangular table will provide additional seating opportunities in a classroom with an abundance of flexible seating options.
The Daily Talk Number Activity Center will be a great resource to check student's comprehension levels of content covered in class. These can be used as bell ringers and centers. The activity center requires students to solve, model, explain, and critique their understanding.
We will be studying important events from our nation's history. Those include the creation of the Constitution and other crucial moments such as the American Revolution, Louisiana Purchase, and more! The Primary Source Magnetic Posters will be utilized during various social studies lessons as they give students the opportunity to examine documents from our nation's history as we study them in class.
Our standards in science require studying plant and animal cells, animal senses, body systems, and adaptions, and much more! Items such as the giant magnetic animal cell would make great resources for these lessons. Students will be able to use these as hands-on resources to further study and manipulate to increase comprehension.
