This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My name is Mr. St. John, I am the current 7/8th grade Social Studies teacher and basketball coach. My goal for this project is to get my students new personalized basketball jerseys that they can wear into the playoffs and at our school on spirit days. The current jerseys we use have been around for a number of years and belong to the school. Because of this, there are not enough sizes for each student, and they are unable to wear them outside of basketball games. Receiving the jerseys before games and turning them in at the end.

I have a great group of kids this year who would love nothing more than to show their school pride and be able to wear a jersey reflecting their positions as student-athletes on campus on our game days.

Our team is currently 4-0 and bound for the playoffs and I wanted to surprise them with new jerseys after Winter Break. My plan is to use a press to put each player's desired number and name on the back. As well as our school mascot and name on the front of the jersey.
