My Students
I am an early childhood special education teacher with students ranging in age of 3 years old to 6 years old. Our students can be engaged learners, but face many different challenges. I have student with many different types delays - academic, speech, occupational and physical therapy, sensory modulation, social and emotional, and independent functioning skills.
My students are learning how to self regulate, explore and communicate with their peers.For many of my students this is the first time in a structured classroom setting.
My Project
The students in my class have special needs and will be working on fine motor skills as well as academic skills while exploring with the art supplies.
My students need new paint brushes and paints along with kinetic sand to enhance their fine motor skills, creativity, and imagination.
The paint supplies will impact their learning by helping them put their ideas on paper. The kinetic sand will help with the sensory needs of my students. My students are creative individuals and love to explore different styles of painting. We are working on their grasp and how to manipulate a paintbrush or pencil appropriately. I hope these experiences will help them grow as individuals in my classroom.
