New and Growing Dual Language Classroom in Need of Resources
Help me give my students some resources to better help their learning of math, reading, social emotional learning, while learning their Dual Language Spanish Immersion.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a high poverty school district in the heart of Chandler, Arizona.
Over 80% of the student population receives free or reduced lunches.
The students I serve are part of our new and building Dual Language Immersion program. These children are bright, driven, and talented individuals who seek to learn two languages. We are exploring different ways to learn in both English and Spanish. Many of my students come from other countries, many from low poverty areas and I am trying to look at the big picture for my students and go beyond just teaching them reading, writing, and spelling skills. Since we live in a high poverty area, I think it is important to teach them life skills, such as literacy in their native language as well as being fluent in English, that they may not get elsewhere. We just need the right tools to make this kind of learning possible.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus, in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology and learning resources will increase their literacy, math and writing as well as their desire to learn!
