My Project

As a new teacher, there are many items I need to acquire this first year to create a positive learning environment for my students. I want to provide the best opportunities to help them feel welcomed and supported in their education.

The games, toys, and manipulatives in this project will help my students have a productive and fun time during indoor recess.

My school often has indoor recesses in the winter because it is too cold for the children to play outside. I believe children learn so much through play, it is an important part of child development. I would love to have games that my students would be interested in playing with. I selected an assortment of board games and STEM toys so that my students can build creative and social skills during indoor recess. The items in this project include Twister, Guess Who, Blokus, Bananagrams, Connect 4, Qwirkle, Sorry, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Kanoodle, a set of classic creative legos, a marble run, an Earth plushie, and a package of sand timers.
