This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is in a low-income neighborhood. The majority of my students are on free or reduced price lunch and their parents have just enough to provide for their students. The students are energetic to learn and thrive in a classroom that is full of stimulating things to keep them focused on their educations. The students are eager to gain knowledge to become better readers and writers, and we want them to become college and career ready. I hope that you will help support our students in this journey!

My Project

Our students have supportive families who work hard to provide things for their kids for the school year. It is hard sometimes for them to provide everything that their kids need. Our class needs to be ready for the new school year now and get the kids ready for another year of learning.

The school supplies I am asking for are to prepare the kids with the basic supplies they need like pencils and copy paper so they can be ready to go to work day one in the classroom.

It is so important to set the tone correctly for the first day and that on day one they have high expectations to work. I would not want any students feeling like they don't have any supplies ready for the first day of school. This will be such a great start to the school year if every student had everything they need to be successful.
