My Project

My students love our phonics time when we learn to blend to read and segment to spell.

We go through a lot of dry erase markers and pencils as we are practicing our phonics skills.

My students use whiteboards and dry erase markers to practice letter formation. We also start to learn cursive in third grade and need the capability to easily erase and try again until our letters look the best that it can be. We also practice spelling many different phonics patterns. Writing with a whiteboard and marker is way more fun than just writing on regular paper with a pencil. Unfortunately markers run out or dry up quickly. I want my students to always have access to markers whenever needed.

We also use pencils a lot every day to practice our math facts and create multiplication chart. Multiplication is a huge priority standard in third grade so practicing to create a chart each day will help students with their skip counting to help with multiplication and division fact fluency.
