My Project

Sun Tzu teaches us that "Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles, you will never be defeated." Strategic thinking is a vitally important twenty-first century skill that is built when we communicate, interact, and plan. We learn who we are when we experience the victories and defeats that life throws into our path. Games prepare us for a world where our plans can change as suddenly as the roll of dice. Taking turns, discussing shared objectives, and working to advance your goal creates an environment where victory and defeat are both valued for the lessons they can teach. Experiencing the bitter disappointment of loss or the elation of winning shows us how to be kind no matter the circumstances, to learn from your mistakes, and to never give up.

Games train our brains to think deductively and to communicate effectively with others.

Playing games is an interactive process where we challenge ourselves and others to become better. The competition to win helps to drive innovation and challenges participants to think deductively and spatially. Playing strategy games teaches how to run scenarios to determine which outcome is the most advantageous and how to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Learning to problem solve makes logical reasoning fun and collaborative. Following the rules of the game, builds a sense of community that transcends the gameboard and values equity and fairness.
