This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love that my little school is comprised of so many diverse backgrounds but the one thing they have in common is their love for reading. Nevada Reading Week 2023 is right around the corner! Our theme is One World Many Stories. We have many things planned: Bingo, Guess the Mystery Reader, surprise guest readers, reading challenges, and more. There are no funds for prizes to celebrate our students this week. We have requested Earth Stress Balls to hand out to each student. This week is all about celebrating the love and joy of reading as we wish to supply daily prizes for all students this week. With your help we can do that.
Embedded in all learning for our readers is that, above all else, our differences and diversity, who we are and how we learn, is to be celebrated and shared.
This year we are focusing on inspiring all students, regardless of culture and experience. Our student population is 700 amazing students from PreK- 5th grade. We are a Title I school with a 100% free or reduced-cost breakfast and lunch population. Students are encouraged to follow their passions, to believe in themselves, to use their strengths, and to look out for each other. With your help we can make this Reading Week fun and exciting for our students. They deserve it as they've been working hard all year and have made considerably growth in reading.
