Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am starting a K-6 specialized program for students with moderate to severe needs. The program serves students with autism, intellectual disability, and multiple disabilities. In addition to barriers due to their disabilities, many of my students also encounter barriers resulting from language development and socioeconomic status. My program is designed to provide students with meaningful and engaging hands-on learning experiences that will keep my students excited to learn new things.
Using the STEM kits will provide my students with the opportunity to apply and showcase their knowledge and creativity.
What better way than using hands-on, engineering and problem-solving skills with the Blocks Rock! A STEM Toy and Educational Game for Competitive Structured Block Play. These STEM centers will also provide my students with the opportunity to explore, discover and create concrete examples of the information they are learning. For example, The Hungry Cutters Magnetic Mix -n- Match Vehicle Set will help them explore and discover different types of transportation and the Skoolzy Butterfly Color Sorting set will help support math concepts such as matching, sorting, and counting.
