Network Upgrade for CAD Lab

Help me give my students a more stable network so our computer lab can offer more features in CAD that rely on Cloud computing, such as Rendering, file storage, or cloud-based features that apply AI.

My Project

I am seeking support to upgrade the network router in our Computer-Aided Design (CAD) lab at our High School. This router is a critical backbone of our lab, which supports a wide range of industry-standard CAD tools used by students to create architectural, civil engineering, and 3D design projects. A faster and more reliable router will dramatically enhance software performance, reduce lag time, and provide the robust connection needed for modern cloud-based rendering and real-time design collaboration. With this upgrade, our students will be better equipped to mirror professional workflows and engage with technology as it is used in the field today.

Our students are part of a highly competitive program at one of New York City’s specialized high schools.

We are home to an advanced Career and Technical Education (CTE) program that blends rigorous academic instruction with hands-on, project-based learning in engineering and design. Admission to our school is based on merit, and our students consistently demonstrate excellence, motivation, and a deep interest in STEM-related fields. Many of our students aspire to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, or industrial design, and the tools they use here play a crucial role in preparing them for those futures.

This project is more than just a technology upgrade; it’s an investment in the potential of students who are already working at an exceptional level.
