My students are a great blend of demographics! We are a large campus for a Middle School, over 1100 students. My energetic 8th graders enjoy doing our activities! They are never too old to cut and paste into their notebooks!
My students are getting ready to move on to high school, and keeping these 135 students engaged is our biggest focus.
When I tell people I teach 8th grade, they immediately all say, "Oh, it takes a special person", well I believe my 8th graders are special people.
My Project
I am a big believer in students learn with hands on experience, not sitting behind a computer screen! All our activities are foldables, graphic organizers and are done on brightly colored paper.
Our notebooks are beautiful resources!
My students reference them all year long! We number the pages and create a table of contents. The students have used them as a reference. I love sitting back and listening
to them discuss where to find an answer! They actually turn to their table of contents and find what they need!
The bright paper, glue, scissors and other supplies are all used almost daily! They make a difference, daily! Some of these students are so glued to technology, they actually enjoy working in my class and getting to do hands on, paper based activities.
