This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are caring, loving, and deserve nothing but the best. Over 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. More than 40% of our students are ELL (English Language Learners) who struggle in reading at their grade level. Many of my students are reading below grade level and these books will allow them to have a choice in the books that they read independently. Reading at grade level is always so important and in order for students to read at their reading level there needs to be a variety of books available to help with that goal.
My Project
These materials will be used while I am at home while the stay at home order is in place. I am in need of supplies at home that can help me better communicate with my students. This will help me because it will allow me to better hear my students and parents when I am talking to them on the phone. During these times I am on the phone with families and students doing check-ins. This will also help me for when I am on work professional developments and meetings.
