My students need access to digital study programs to aid them in taking the Social Studies Advanced Placement exams. Though many are good students they lack the academic vocabulary needed when taking standardized tests.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a public charter high school in Brooklyn, NY. We are a Title I school. More than 90% of our student are on free or reduced-price lunch. Our student body consists of 65% Hispanic and 33% African American. Our students hail from many different islands and countries.
More than 90% of our student body will be the first in their family to attend college.
The intent of this project is to better prepare our students for the AP U.S. History and AP Government and Politics exams.
My Project
We've been offering AP classes for the last decade but our students have rarely scored the 3 needed to receive college credit. These resources will give students access to a data bank of exam questions. The school license will allow students to work independently, as a study and review tool.
Students will be using software to access their understanding of the different topics while preparing to take the AP exams for U.S.
History and Government and Politics. The larger the pool of questions they can examine the more confident they will become with the vocabulary. The software will also pinpoint the topics in which they are weaker.
