My students need 30 scientific calculators as a class set in order to prepare them for AP biology.

My Students

Although there is value in doing math with pencil and paper, it is time consuming. Calculators would enhance and make efficient the learning taking place in my AP biology class. It is also required that the students have a calculator on the national AP test.

I teach at an incredibly diverse school with all races, social backgrounds, and financial backgrounds.

We are consistently listed as one of the top 100 public high school in the United States. We are urban and right dab in the middle of Houston's energy corridor.

My Project

I'm seeking a class set of scientific calculators. These calculators are nothing special, but have all of the required functions without the bells and whistles. They add, subtract, divide, multiply, do square roots, squares, and other pertinent mathematical functions.

It is important because they need them not only for the test but to practice for the test.

AP biology is filled with statistics and although math can be done by hand, it is a timed test.
