This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom consists of general education and special education students. Many of these students are also speakers of other languages. Every student is pushed to do their best and achieve their individual goals. When you come into my classroom you cannot tell which children have IEP's, are english language learners, or general education students. All of our students work together as a team to help each other to achieve their goals.
My students love technology!
Many students don't have access to a computer or tablet at home. Our computer time in the classroom is very necessary to ensure the success of all of our students.
My Project
I am requesting 30 headphones for my classroom. I currently have enough laptops for our students but they do not have enough headphones. We often run into problems when each child is working on an individual lesson and cannot concentrate because of the noise distraction. The school does not have many and the few that we have are either broken or shared between many classes. Our school has purchased a program called i-Ready. This program individualizes exercises for students to improve their reading. Throughout the week classes take turns working on i-Ready. We also have an Imagine Math Facts program that the children love. It really has great math practice lessons. Many of the students do not have computers at home and that is why it is so important that they do their lessons in school. This program has really helped many of my students in the past.
