Need TLC (Need a 'Terrific Listening Center')

My students need 4 personal CD players to listen to CD audio books that have been earned through class book orders. Cassette tapes are obsolete.

My Students

Previously students had a listening library consisting of cassette tapes. Unfortunately they didn't know what they were or how to use them since it was outdated technology. Students need an updated listening center to enhance reading their experience. We are earning free audio books with book orders.

My students are ages 3-5 attending a universal PreK in a public elementary school setting.

We typically have 20 students per class (I currently have 19 comprised of 10 girls and 9 boys). My students are happy, energetic, and full of curiosity. They are adapted to technology and frequently use it.

My Project

Reading is an integral part of early literacy. Students should be read to daily and have the opportunity to peruse books of their interest level. Unfortunately, I cannot read a book of each child's individual choice every day...but access to audio books in the class library center solves this problem. Students can select a book of choice and read along with an audio CD. Win-win!

This project is important because books are important...reading is important...learning early literacy skills is important.

Please help my students listen to a story come alive with CD players that are necessary in order to enjoy our newly earned audio books that have been earned from class book orders.
