My students are an awesome group of second graders from diverse backgrounds. They represent countries like Mexico, Russia, Poland, and the Dominican Republic just to name a few. Although they come from many diverse backgrounds, they share one thing. They love to learn and come eager to do just that every day. Every morning they come with smiles, in anticipation of the learning that will happen that day.
My students work well together.
Whenever tackling a tough question or a new theme, they go at it with determination. It is common to see classmates offering support when needed. My class encourages those that may feel apprehensive or shy about trying something new. Our class and school are like a small family. We are there for each other to help make everyone successful.
My Project
My students will use the iPad and Chromebooks to conduct research, provide enrichment and reinforcement in all subject areas, and provide a way for students to share information and projects. My class loves STEM challenges. They love to create using hands-on materials and technology. However, they do not always get the opportunity due to lack of accessibility. By having an iPad and Chromebooks in the classroom, the children do not have to wait their turn to do scientific research on a weekly basis. It will be a tool that is readily available to them whenever they need it.
For many of my students, this will provide an opportunity to use technology that they don't have at home.
I have such an eager group of students. They love to learn and are a curious bunch. I would love to provide them with all the tools they need to make their learning impactful. My hope is to help foster a love for learning through multimedia and prepare them for the 21st century.
